I've run into this too, "search disabled because of website traffic" or similar response.

It's not down that much, and even when it is, the google search of guildwarsuguru.com works semi decently.
~ edit: oiih.. I go to search something and:
Searching has been disabled. This is most likely automatic and due to high server load.
Please use the search form below to search our forums:
EEEHEEEEH. Only the 100th time it's happened, though~

Searching is down on this site over 50% of the time.
If there's a thread that you have created or want to track for a while, try the "subscribe to this thread" feature as a workaround.

Searching on this site is no longer an option. I haven't been able to run searches in months and neither have most people I've talked to. Everytime I see a person say, "Use the search button," I just want to smack them. I feel your pain.

Yes! I'm totally with you on this. Worst of all I sometimes can't even find my own posts. I've been trying to find the thread where I promised a guy some dune burrower jaws. Guess he's SOL because I can't remember his IGN or where I posted my promise.

Hey, there's already a recent thread which is rather long about this in Site Feedback, where it belongs. If you had taken the time to read the sticky here in Riverside, you would have noticed that this type of thread doesn't even belong here.
